What is a Trojan Horse Virus?
By TheSloneGal
A Trojan horse virus is one of the most common viruses there are. Trojan Horse viruses are what are called an executable programs, by this I mean it is a file that you have to open, and when done so it will automatically start performing what ever action or actions that it has been programmed to do. In the Windows executable programs it has what is called a file extensions, here are a few examples ;
exe, vbs, com, bat,
etc. as well as some of the actual Trojan file names are shown here too which includes; "dmsetup.exe" and "LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs so when ever there happens to be multiple extensions only the very last one will show up to you so make sure that you change
Your settings to be-able to view all of your hidden extensions files so you can see what is there. They are usually gotten through e-mails, chat rooms as well as software. Also it is spread by e-mailing its self to people that are in the address book but this happens only if the whole computer system is already infected. Once this attaches itself on to your computer it is very hard to remove but is possible with a Trojan horse removal tool. They are a very bad risk to your computer system. What a Trojan Horse virus does is that it makes your system think that it is a beneficial application and hides in the useful programs, once the Trojan horse virus has been installed or executed it will instantly start infecting other files in the computers systems.
The Trojan Horse Virus is capable of stealing important data from the users computer system. Then it will transfer this information back to the the developer of the virus server. Once the info has been transferred then the developer will gain a certain access to your computer files. If the Trojan is not removed immediately the user will notice that their system will start running slower or a pop up will start showing up but sooner then later this will lead to a total crash of the system. The best way to prevent this Trojan virus, is not to open e-mail attachments from anyone that you don't know although this is not all ways guaranteed to work because you can get a Trojan just by visiting a web site.
How to Remove the Trojan Horse Virus?
You will need a Trojan Horse Virus removal tool, removing a Trojan horse virus although it is hard to remove but possible. Get a anti-virus protection for your system make sure that you keep the anti-virus updated, but if you get one of these Trojans then I am sorry to say but you will have to buy an additional accessories. Here are few steps that may or may not help but it would be worth a shot. Update your spy-ware tool, then turn off your system restore, reboot into Safe Mode run your anti-virus removal tool, shut down your computer then reboot your system. Follow my detailed instruction from above but please BE CAREFUL. Then make sure to set your system to be able to view all hidden files, then reboot your system in safe mode, make some new folders, change the system settings.

had my computer hyjacked by something disguised as Norton Anti-virus. I guess that would make it a Trojan Horse, since it was concealed as something it was not. Beware the Norton anti-virus. Good hub... lily
